ALADDIN MANTLE LAMPS
The Aladdin lamp was introduced by The Mantle Lamp Company of America
in 1908 and is the only non-pressure incandescent mantle lamp made in
the world today. The magic behind the success of the Aladdin light is
based on several highly scientific principles new in the Age of Invention.
A liquid fuel (originally kerosene) is converted into vapor gas when a
saturated circular wick is lighted. The burner mixes the vapor with air
in specific scientific proportion to produce a blue flame. A mantel coated
with rare earth elements hangs above the blue flame and heats to the Bunsen
Factor. At this point the mantel will glow white hot producing 60 full
candlepower of incandescent or "white" light. When compared to artificial
electric or gas light, scientific tests have concluded that the light
from an Aladdin burner is closest to natural sunlight.
Today, Aladdin lamps are used worldwide as a source for emergency light
and a reliable source of illumination in under privileged countries. Long
embraced by those who choose to live a non-electric life style, Aladdin
lamps now offer comfort and security to the general population faced with
today's rolling blackout crisis. The Aladdin is enjoyed by thousands of
members of The Aladdin Knights, a group of collectors dedicated to the
advancement of collecting and preserving Aladdin lamps and memorabilia.
A small group of Aladdin Knights recently formed the Aladdin Mantle Lamp
Company and purchased the Aladdin lamp division from Aladdin Industries
LLC, of Nashville, Tennessee with plans to produce, improve, and market
the Aladdin into the 21st century.

Special notes:
- The Brass Series Aladdin lamps are solid brass and
are coated with lacquer. With extended use, the lacquered finish will
eventually wear off. A new coat of lacquer may be needed to keep the
brass looking shiny.
- Hanging lamps and wall mounted lamps should be hung
18 inches or more from the ceiling.
- High altitude chimney #R105 does not fit the hanging
lamps.
- All lamps since 1969 use a Model 23 burner requiring
a #R150 Lox-On mantle and #N230 wick.
- New Aladdin lamps now have "Heel-less" instead of
"Lox-On" chimneys and burners.
